Los Salasacas, según algunas fuentes etno-históricas, son descendientes de un antiguo grupo mitimae traido de Bolivia en tiempo del imperio Inca. Viven en la provincia de Tungurahua al sur-oriente de la ciudad de Ambato en la llanura arenosa del cantón Pelileo al pie del cerro Teligote.
The Salasacas, according to some ethno-historic sources, are descendants of a mitimae (colonist) group brought from Bolivia in time of the Inca Empire. They live in the province of Tungurahua to the southeast of the city of Ambato in the sandy plain of the canton of Pelileo at the foot of the Teligote mountain.
